Thank you for such a scrumptious collection of moon art!! Last year, I drew a full moon using silverpoint and watercolor washes. I had planned to sell it, but cannot seem to take it off the wall. Everyone loves earth’s moon!
Really glad you enjoyed it. That sounds great - I love silverpoint drawings. (though never actually tried it as a medium personally). And yes, the parting ways with an artworks is always a hard thing, isn't it! But at least you get the enjoyment of it on your own wall!
Thanks a lot Dian, I really appreciate it. I actually drew it with ink pens on canvas - so it was a bit of test of concentration too as its quite large.
Thanks Lora. Magritte actually has another moon piece called "The Mysteries of the Horizon" which is well worth a look too. (Just didn't have enough room to fit it in with all the others today)
I’m over the moon for this collection, George! I love that you began it with a Matthew Wong and ended with your own surprising and spectacular moonscape. An utterly delightful curation! Thank you!
Hi George, a little belated, but I trust you enjoyed a restful Easter weekend. A wonderful selection as ever, but forgive me if I offer an alternate Turner painting of 'Keelmen Heaving in Coals by Moonlight', sorry my northeast England bias coming out .... 😉
Thanks a lot, Harry. Hope you enjoyed Easter too. And totally welcome your northeast bias here! Honestly, there were quite a few works from Turner that could have made the cut today (same with Aivazovsky too) . . . so I'm glad you gave that a mention.
That Goya painting....wow....
It's so striking, isn't it!
Your moon is fantastic!
Thank you - that means a lot!

This is terrific. And your moonscape is wonderful. Is it graphite on paper? I love it. Post more!
