The paintings of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec are somewhat of an acquired taste.

Though his style is certainly distinctive amongst his post-impressionist peers . . . it is hard to consider his work as “beautiful” in the traditional sense of the word; and this is never more apparent than in his series depicting Paris’s iconic venue “The Moulin Rouge”
